The new 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLA and 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB

Mercedes-Benz has recently unveiled its latest entry-level sport utility vehicles, the 2024 GLA and GLB models. These vehicles underwent a major facelift this year, featuring enhanced exterior designs, refined interior features, and more eco-friendly mild-hybrid powertrains for improved efficiency. Though not entirely new, the 2024 GLA and GLB models have received just the right upgrades to sustain their impressive market presence and to appeal to a wider range of customers seeking the latest in technology, luxury, and refinement in the entry-level premium SUV category.

Exterior enhancements

The 2024 GLA and GLB have received significant exterior enhancements, such as the installation of LED high-performance headlights and rear taillights. They’ve also got new wheel and front designs, along with 18-inch, high-gloss black wheels as standard, and the availability of several other sizes ranging from 18 to 20 inches. Although both models will retain their current size, the GLB will continue to provide a third row of seats.

Refined interior

The interior of both Mercedes-Benz entry-level SUVs has received notable enhancements. The standard comfort seats now offer more comfort and are finished in full leather. Additionally, both models feature a standard 10.25-inch center display and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, providing a more refined and improved design. The digital infotainment system is integrated with the latest generation of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience, which can be customized by the owner through three distinct display modes. Moreover, the 2024 GLA and GLB feature a 64-color ambient light system, further improving the already impressive interior.

As previously mentioned, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLA and GLB are equipped with the latest generation of MBUX infotainment technology. This highly advanced system comes with a variety of features, including the ability to conveniently control various settings with voice commands. Additionally, both models offer new entertainment features within their infotainment systems, allowing passengers to enjoy games such as Sudoku or a variety of quizzes while on the move.

Electrified efficiency

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLA and GLB models prioritize fuel efficiency, building upon the already high standard set by their predecessors that excellently combined performance and fuel economy. These new models feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Both cars integrate mild-hybrid technology with a 48-volt onboard power supply that can briefly provide an additional 10 kW of power, equaling 13 horsepower, to enhance overall performance and acceleration.

AMG performance

The 2024 Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 4MATIC and 2024 Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC are equipped with second-generation belt-driven starter generator technology featuring a 48V onboard power supply. This delivers smoother acceleration and enhanced reaction times. Both models are powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces an impressive 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The GLA 35 4MATIC can achieve 0-100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds while the GLB 35 4MATIC does it in 5.5 seconds. These models also feature standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

With their impressive upgrades and enhancements, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLA and GLB combine to create one of the most enticing offerings in the entry-level SUV category from any luxury automaker. These models provide remarkable versatility in a compact package, ideal for city driving. They offer exceptional luxury, great performance, and impressive fuel economy, making for a truly alluring package.
