The Mercedes-AMG Project One: a concept like you’ve never seen before.

June 06 2018, Mercedes-Benz Rive-Sud

Mercedes-Benz is an iconic brand for one reason: its vehicles are at the crossroads of race cars and luxury ones, and have never failed to excite high end cars’ lovers in decades. Mercedes-AMG is now proposing a concept well-aligned with the efforts it made to get the reputation it enjoys today: the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE. If you’re passionate about performant cars and you never heard about this one, it’s time to contact Mercedes-Benz Rive-Sud, your Mercedes-Benz car dealer located on the Boulevard Taschereau.

At the crossroads of race cars and science fiction.

Although it’s common for concept cars to look like they’ve coming straight from a sci-fi movie, no one pushed this aspect as far as the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE. The race cars’ inspiration is obvious (a quick look at the rectangular wheel covered of command buttons should be enough to convince you), but this super coupe distinguishes itself by a futuristic design that goes beyond words. The front grille of this vehicle is long, framed by oversized headlights that overhang another pair of grilles, which further reinforce the undeniably sportive look of this mechanical masterpiece. On the back, a spoiler planted in the middle of the rook like a fin, proudly displaying the letters AMG. Inside the cabin, which is accessed by going through doors opening clockwise via a sliding mechanism, a minimalist setting awaits the driver: a wheel, two independent 10-inch screens and a console subtly placed between the two front seats. Nothing else is needed since this car has only two objectives: reach unreasonable speeds and give its driver the best time of his life.

Performance with a capital P.

The Mercedes-AMG Project ONE is a hybrid car and its current specification sheet mentions a direct injection, turbocharged 1.6-liter engine with electrical assistance, paired with no less than 4 electrical engines with a power of 450 kW each. This surrealistic powertrain can generate up to 1,000 horsepower and comes with an automated 8-speed manual transmission. We’re talking about a vehicle capable of going from 0 to 200 km/h in less than 6 seconds, and to reach a top speed of 350 km/h!

As of now, the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE is only a concept that will eventually become a prototype and, who knows, maybe be sold… If you’re looking for a car that looks close to this one and that is currently on sale, go at once to Mercedes-Benz Rive-Sud, your Mercedes-Benz car dealer located on the Boulevard Taschereau.
