The CLS 53 Mercedes-Benz: sport and hybrid.

June 06 2018, Mercedes-Benz Rive-Sud

We were waiting for it impatiently and today it’s finally here. Presented at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the new CLS 53 Mercedes-Benz sport car is already making a strong impression on the starred-brand’s lovers. It’s impossible to miss the new CLS 53 Mercedes-AMG sedan and its coupe and convertible version, the E53. This year, Mercedes-AMG innovates and makes a homerun by revealing a hybrid version of its famous sport model, the CLS 53. Your Mercedes-Benz car dealer at Longueuil, near Montreal, receives this news with great enthusiasm.

Mercedes-Benz embraces the micro-hybrid.

For this third variant, Mercedes-AMG went all-in and it shows under the hood. Powered by a 3-liter, 6-cylinder gas engine that produces 435 HP, just like the CLS 450’s, the CLS 53 also benefits from a new 48 volts micro-hybrid system. This powertrain is delivered with a turbo, an additional electric compressor and a starter-alternator. Placed between the engine and the 9-speed automatic transmission, it regulates the gas engine’s low speeds and capture the energy generated each and every time you brake. This device reduces your carbon dioxide emissions and your fuel consumption. Thrill lovers will be pleased to learn that the manufacturer announced that this hybrid sport car can go from 0 to 100 km/h in a bit less than 4.4 seconds! The CLS 53 and E53 models are both equipped with the 4Matic + AMG All Wheel-Drive system.

Luxurious and performant.

When it comes to the design, the 53 series’ models all display a sporty appearance: dual-blade front grille, shielding under the car, skid plates and stainless steel mufflers. Inside the cabin, we’re faced with the luxury touch and the level of technology that made the reputation of Mercedes-Benz. The driver will appreciate the tricolor leather seats with a dark theme and the
futuristic dashboard that includes two 12.3-inch touchscreen, which blend with the cockpit and match the AMG Performance wheel perfectly. This jewel of technology comes with an entertainment system that responds to voice commands. In the back, passengers can enjoy completely redesigned seats that offer an unparalleled space and comfort.

The new CLS 53 hasn’t hit the market just yet, but it should be available later this year. However, if you’re looking for a sport car that combines luxury and performance features today, you don’t have to wait to go to Mercedes-Benz Rive-Sud, your Mercedes-Benz car dealer located on the Boulevard Taschereau at Longueuil. Our team is at your service, and it will be our pleasure to show you the new arrivals from the German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz. Jump on the occasion to make a test drive.
