All in all, the changes are evident and the 2021 E 53 4MATIC+ is now more aggressive than before, a change that will definitely be welcomed by AMG brand lovers.

Under the hood, the name E 53 took over from the E 43 model when Mercedes-AMG equipped the E-Class with the new 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine combined with the EQ-Boost light hybrid system. The good news for this facelift in 2021 is that this powertrain remains unchanged, still developing an impressive peak power output of 429 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. It’s the smoothest integration of turbocharging and electric power on the market, with a 21-horsepower, 184 lb-ft EQ Boost engine complementing the low torque, an electric compressor offering instantaneous low-end response and a conventional turbocharger operating at the cutting edge of the engine spectrum.

In addition, the system sends output to every corner via an AMG performance-tuned 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system, while a nine-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission handles things in between. The 2021 E 53 completes the 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, while the AMG Dynamic Select system allows the driver to adapt the E 53’s attitude through five distinct driving modes: Slip, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual.
