Mercedes-Benz EQC 2020, Germans Ahead!

If we know that the last letter on a Mercedes-Benz means the class of the vehicle, what do we need to understand about the idea of naming its last discovery EQ, proudly adorned on the front wings of this vehicle? It is in fact an amalgam which means both the electrification mode (E) and the intelligence translated by the numerous technological capacities of the new vehicle (Q).

You got it, the EQC from Mercedes-Benz is the first 100% electric vehicle produced on a large scale. Of course, you will tell me that there was the Smart, but this time nothing compares.

Germans ahead means that these people are interested both to technologies and to tomorrow’s lifestyles. This alliance is found in the new 2020 EQC, this performing SUV, powerful and of a rare elegance.

If it is familiar with the Mercedes-Benz GLC (same family) it’s because it has been built in the same factory, but on a completely new platform. It offers a size worthy of the German designer. With a very spacious cabin and its avant-garde functionalities, including vocal assistance, the 2020 EQC offers a MBUX infotainment system from Mercedes-Benz, which includes two large screens, who side-by-side practically occupy the entire width of the dashboard. On top of its ergonomic and multi-adjustable leather seats, its imposing leg room and its impeccable finish, this SUV will bring you very, very far.

Speaking of your adventure with this 100% electric SUV, you will be happy to notice that it counts on a pair of compact electric engines located on each wheel. This positioning indeed allows a better distribution of the weight, especially with an integral cog. Even more spectacular, the moto-propeller group of the 2020 EQC develops 402 horsepower total with 564 lb-ft. of torque. With such power, the new Mercedes-Benz goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, a huge step if we combine electrification and a desire for adrenaline.

The autonomy announced in Europe is of 450 km, while here we rather speak of 350 to 375 km with a set of 80 kWh lithium-ion batteries installed below the floor.

If the 2020 EQC pushes back the limits in terms of electrification and performance, it nevertheless remains that the comfort and its silent driving are present. Indeed, this SUV is ultra-silent on the road and hyper comfortable in a soundproof cabin. With its automatic system, the EQC does an excellent job on the road and will bring you to good port.

Other innovative idea from the Baden-Württemberg designer (Germany), is the charging time of the vehicle. With a level 2 charging station (400 V), you will need 40 minutes in order to hit the road back in total peace of mind. The information inside the vehicle is so precise, that you merely need to enter your destination and the system plans the trajectory for you, including the charging stations, and will inform you of the required time for each charge. Leave your worries behind and let the grand adventure begin…

All in all, Mercedes-Benz sees big, far, and once again positions itself above the crowd – über allem – with its 2020 EQC. It leads the way to a new lifestyle and clearly sets itself in a modern and technological ecological perspective.

The first units of the all-new EQC are expected at Mercedes-Benz Rive-Sud from the beginning of the year 2020. Join our VIP list to be among the first to be informed of their arrival.
